Telescoping Attic Ladder

A telescoping attic ladder is a device that comes in several forms. Each of these forms has the same basic concept, however. These ladders will fold up and extend as necessary for storage or usage. Some ladders of this type will be in the form of stair steps. However, some will come in the form of purely vertical ladders that slide up and down as needed. The usefulness of such a device cannot be stressed enough.

A standard ladder takes up a great deal of space and might not fit the exacting needs of the space it is going to be used in. Many types of telescoping ladder can be locked at various intervals to create a length and stability that are perfect for usage as an attic accessing medium.

Sometimes attics will have built in stairs or ladders that slide down for usage. These are quite useful but once they are damaged they can become costly to repair. A telescopic ladder might be a better choice for accessing an attic with damaged stairs or ladder due to the fact that it can be moved around and used for more than just attic access. On the opposite side of that occurrence there are telescoping ladders that can be built into the attic trap door. These can be handy replacements for older, worn out, access mediums such as damaged stairs or former ladders.

The typical attic ladder will include flat risers and they will extend at an angle to allow for easy access to an attic. However, this can take up a little too much space and allows for easier damage to the ladder. A telescoping attic ladder, on the other hand, generally is created in a vertical style. This is useful because it allows each individual flat-riser or rung to hold the force of the individual climbing it. The compact nature of the telescoping attic ladder is one of the primary reasons why professional electricians, carpenters, and plumbers use them frequently for home repair and business purposes.

When not in use actively allowing for entrance into an attic these ladders can be stored in a small space. Typically a hall closet or garage is considered the perfect location for them and they take up about as much space as the average step stool. Between the ease of set-up, the compact storage, and the durable framework a telescoping attic ladder is the perfect medium to reach new heights, or old ones in the case of an attic.
